I’m going to apply for the food critic position for the Portland Mercury.  Notoriously crass, yet hilarious with all their articles, I’m asked to write a cover letter explaining why I’m awesome.  Literally, that is what they asked.  All I can say about that is… I’m not sure why.
I know that I worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, and continue to create what I think to be great, crowd pleasing food.  I’ve even contemplated opening a restaurant, soul-thai inspired (once I go to Thailand and really learn and once I make millions).  Until then, I will continue to cook for my amazing friends and have them gush to me about how great it is.  I can’t say it’s always good, but dammit I try.
Tonight, for my application, I’m going to review my friends restaurant that just opened next to Bunk Bar (where we’ll be seeing Gardens and Villa/Hosannas/Aan on the 20th), who will be serving us Korean Fried Chicken at his Ramen shoppe, Boke.  So excited for food from someone I trust and love.  Will put the review up tonight after dinner.  Stay tuned.

Get it.
